Placido Domingo, World-Renowned Opera Singer, Tests Positive for COVID-19
One of the world’s most prominent figures in the world of opera, Placido Domingo announced today that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, the 79-year-old Spaniard said “I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for Covid-19, the Coronavirus.”

Domingo and his family are currently in Mexico, and remain in isolation as he seeks to recover from the illness. The singer joins other prominent Spanish figures, including Begoña Gómez, wife of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and Lorenzo Sanz, former President of Real Madrid, who sadly passed away yesterday.
