A day after news broke that a personal valet for President Trump tested positive for COVID-19, a staffer for Vice President Mike Pence has also been confirmed as testing positive for the disease. Multiple other Pence staffers were reported to have been in direct contact with the infected individual, including in close quarters such as a private jet meant to transport Pence to Des Moines, Iowa.

Prior to the Pence staffer announcement, one of Pres. Trump’s personal valets tested positive for COVID-19, increasing concerns that the commander-in-chief has been or is likely to be exposed to the virus.

“We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus,” deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement. “The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health.”
Along with the president himself, the valets also assist the first family, including first lady Melania Trump and her and the president’s young son Baron Trump.
To date, the White House has still not enforced any strict social distancing guidelines for staffers. According to sources, very few people inside the White House wear masks, including valets.
