US Now Has 38,138 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

March 22, 2020 brings yet another sobering day’s worth of data to the world. Perhaps more so in the United States than anywhere else.

The numbers are rolling in from individual states, and they’re stunning: there are now 38,138 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States.

This represents a jump of over 12,000 cases since yesterday, easily the largest single-day increase yet.

Perhaps the most sobering revelation is the New York state case count, which jumped by 12,345 and now stands at 22,717. This represents a single-day increase of 119%.
