In one of the world’s most prominent individual cases of COVID-19 yet, Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has just announced that he tested positive for Coronavirus after feeling mild symptoms.
The 55-year-old Prime Minister has announced that he will self-quarantine, forced to lead the nation’s fight against COVID-19 virtually from home.
Johnson’s wife, Carrie Symonds, is currently pregnant and will be kept separate from the Prime Minister.
The United Kingdom has been hit hard as a nation by COVID-19, ranking 9th-highest in the world with 11,658 cases as of 3/27, 8am ET and 578 total deaths to-date.
Johnson’s spokeswoman a few days ago said that Dominic Rabb, Foreign Secretary, would stand in for Johnson should he become physically unable to perform his job. As of now, Prime Minister Johnson plans to continue working as the nation fights the spread of this pandemic.
